"Keep us here all simply in the springing of the year..."

Spring Greetings from all of us at CRO!

Sprouting Greens
Yes, we think it's safe to say Spring is finally here! It's hard to believe more than half of April went by before your CRO growers could plow their fields, let alone transplant their greenhouse seedlings. Nevertheless, progress has been made and we hope you're as excited as they are for the first, fresh vegetables of the season!

While continual fieldwork is in order for your growers, they’ve also tied up administrative duties — harvest plans are officially confirmed! Now the fun part of farming and hard workseeing if harvest projections can be reached or exceeded begins!

CRO continues to grow, and we welcomed two additional local growers into our cooperative this year, which will happily increase our variety even more. These families are looking forward to introducing themselves to all of our CSA members and can't wait to help feed you and your family.

Rippling Brook Farm Greenhouse

Speaking of food, by the time June rolls around, you can expect to enjoy our organic: asparagus, beans, beets, bok choy, brocolli, carrots, cauliflower, collard greens, cucumber, kale, lettuce varieties, onions, scallions, strawberries, tomatoes and zucchini!

It's hard to believe, but in just four weeks our first 2018 CSA share will be delivered!

Don't forget about our new Free Choice CSA option this season — a box full of our available produce completely customized by you! Enjoy the freedom each week to select, item-by-item, what you’d like to have delivered to you in your CSA box! Subscribing to this option will allow you to create an account for our online storefront, and will give you access to our entire inventory each week — a virtual farm-stand, so to speak! It's a perfect CSA for those of us who worry about waste *and* struggle with picky vegetable taste!

Please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions.

Happy Spring from All of Us at CRO!

Join the CRO Greenhouse Campaign!

We’re crowdfunding new greenhouses and you be an investor to help us get them up and running!

The exteriors of the three greenhouses are already up in back of our warehouse.
We’re very excited to team up with Honeycomb, the Pittsburgh based crowdfunding start-up, to offer our supporters a chance to invest directly in Clarion River Organics! Honeycomb allows investors to make micro loans of $100 or more to local businesses that they love. The guys at Honeycomb came to us at just the right time this Spring as we were looking to expand into greenhouse production. The greenhouses will allow us to extend our season and expand our customers’ access to our local organic vegetables. Rather than go the usual route of taking out a loan from our bank, Honeycomb gives us a chance to include our customers and fans in our growth!
