Finally we're in a position to offer an internship with CRO to anyone who wants to really understand how produce gets from the field to the table. Please share this with anyone you know who might be interested. It would be especially great for a college student in an agriculture program, but all are welcome to apply.
Organic Farmer's Cooperative Internship - Clarion River Organics
An intern with Clarion River Organics will participate in all aspects of marketing organic produce, from planting and harvesting to marketing and management. We are a cooperative of organic produce farmers that sells directly through farm markets and CSA, to grocery stores and restaurants, and to major wholesale distributors. Our farms vary in size from 1 acre to 65 acres. You will get a unique up close look at the produce business at both very small and very large scales. Work will be divided evenly between produce field work, packing and assembling CSAs and customer orders in our warehouse, and delivery and marketing at farm markets, CSA sites, and wholesale customers, with some special projects from time to time. Our cooperative is special because all of our farmers are powered by draft horses and all of them are diversified, with sidelines including goat cheese production, sheep and cow dairy, meat rabbits, and many more.
